The distinguished literary critic Helen Vendler made a new selection of 122 of the best and most representative of Stevens' poems. The print by Jasper Johns was his first public exposure of any of the four images from his renowned series "The Seasons". The four paintings, associated drawings, and other prints were not exhibited until several months after the publication. This book has been included in museum retrospectives of Johns' work.
