83. The Structure of Rime, by Robert Duncan, with etchings by Frank Lobdell
Published in November 2008, The Structure of Rime is the 83rd publication of the Press. This edition brings together for the first time all of the prose-poems in this acclaimed series by San Francisco poet Robert Duncan, along with an essay by poet Michael Palmer, a longtime friend of Duncan, commissioned for this project. The Structure of Rime is augmented with three etchings by California artist Frank Lobdell, who knew the author, as well as two photographic portraits of Duncan. The edition includes two black-and-white Lobdell etchings on the front and back cover of the book and a signed and numbered Lobdell etching accompanying the book that is suitable for framing.
The book edition of The Structure of Rime is printed by letterpress, bound by hand, and issued in a slipcase, in an edition of 275 numbered copies for sale. The set of the book and print is priced at $1,350.
To those who purchase the book edition, we are also offering twelve large-format Lobdell color etchings. These striking larger color images, whose average dimension is 14 x 18 inches, are signed and numbered by the artist, from small editions, and may be purchased framed. The larger prints are priced from $1,800 to $3,500.
