Helen Adam was a prominent member of the 1950/60s San Francisco literary scene. Among the avant-garde, some considered her a link to ancient poetic tradition; Robert Duncan once referred to her as “the extraordinary nurse of enchantment.”

I Love My Love is based on a Celtic interpretation of the Medusa theme. The book features 16 images by artist Kiki Smith, derived from her own hair.
